Giovanna Bossti - Tour Guide and Historian

Italy by Vespa is pleased to offer a native historian of Florentine architecture and a licensed tour guide! Giovanna’s guiding philosophy is to have Florentine history come alive to each visitor through her stories and knowledge. Beside the visit to the city’s classic highlights she will introduce you to a Florence not written about in guidebooks and that very few Florentines even know about. Giovanna designs special thematic tours about specific aspects of the history and art of Florence, tailoring her tours to each client’s interests.

These proposed itineraries are especially designed for visitors who are in Florence for the first time, but they can be customized to your interests if you are a return visitor and want to experience a different side of Florence.

Half-Day Tour (3 hours)

During Giovanna’s half-day guided tour of Florence, you will receive an outline of the art and history of the city through visiting the Ponte Vecchio, Piazza della Signoria, and the Cathedral area with the "Golden Gate" of the Baptistery. You will also visit the famous Academia Gallery, with the original David by Michelangelo (Academia fee: Euros €6.50 + €3.00 for reservation). In addition to these classic highlights you will see other sites, less known but very important and impressive.

Full-Day Tour (6-8 hours)

This tour includes the half-day tour, plus the visit to the Uffizi Gallery (entrance fee: Euros €6.50 + €3.00 for reservation) or to the Pitti Palace (the last residence of the Medici family). For 8-hour tours you will also visit the S. Croce Church (tombs of Michelangelo, Galileo, and Machiavelli).
